The awards presented by the Executive Committee of COMSTECH (Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in order to appreciate the outstanding researches carried out by the scientists who are citizens of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and work in these countries found their owners this year, as well.

A faculty member from our university took part in the 2023 COMSTECH Awards presented in 4 categories, including COMSTECH Best Patent Award, COMSTECH Best Research Paper Award in Biology, COMSTECH Best Research Paper Award in Chemistry and COMSTECH Best Research Paper Award in Mathematics.

Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. İsmail ÖÇSOY, a faculty member at the ERU Faculty of Pharmacy, was deemed worthy of the COMSTECH Best Research Paper Award in Chemistry 2023.

In the committee in which TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal was a member of the COMSTECH Scientific Advisory Council, Prof. Dr. İsmail ÖÇSOY received the award together with Pakistani Scientist Dr. Naseem Iqbal.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun congratulated Prof. Dr. İsmail ÖÇSOY on his achievement. He stated that our University started 2024 with an award and said that they, as the university administration, would continue to support the academic staff members of Erciyes University.

Stating that he was proud to receive the award of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on behalf of Erciyes University for the first time, Prof. Dr. İsmail ÖÇSOY thanked our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun for his support.
